I used the extreme4 with my air dried ipe which actually increased my gap spacing when compaired to the normal extreme. My deck is surrounded by pine trees so the slightly larger spacing allows the needles to fall through much easier. Looks like this deck clip can really work for just about anything.

I love the tighter gap spacing achieved with this new Extreme4. Many of my customers used to be turned away from kd decking because they did not like the larger 1/4" gap. This fastener is the perfect fit to the Ipe Clip Extreme line!

It is nice that Ipe Clip gives people building composite decks more than one option for gap spacing. I like the Extreme 4 because the smaller gap spacing is my personal preference. Thanks Ipe Clip!

I called Ipe Clip today to place my order for the Extreme KD clips as I am using kiln dried decking. I've built about 10 decks over the last few years and have always used the same clip. When placing my order, I mentioned that I don't particularly like the larger gap space that the KD clip leaves. I was then told that a new clip had been developed. This new Extreme4 clip can also be used with kiln dried decking but it leaves a smaller gap space. Thank you Ipe Clip and thanks to the perceptive staff.

I had the opposite problem. I live in a house with a wife and four daughters. They all seemed to get their high heels stuck in between the deck boards when I used the 1/4" gap space. We have since moved and when I built my new deck, tried the Extreme4. The smaller gap allowed my deck boards to move and stopped my girls from getting their heels stuck!

I am located in the SE US, and had the same problem as DeckMaster above did. This new larger gap space has saved me time. I no longer have to sweep my deck, then spray it clean; I can just hose it down and be done with it. Less time sweeping and spraying means more time sitting and relaxing.

I am located in the NW US, and this sligthly larger gap spacing works wonders to allow those pesky pine needles to fall through without getting stuck in the cracks. The few that do, now easily can be sprayed through with a hose. Great Product!!!

I've built decks for years and have had quite a few clients uncertain about the 1/4" gap spacing that the KD clip left. (they didn't realize that kiln-dried decking will expand as it weathers). This 4mm deck fastener is the best! It assures me that I still have adequate gap spacing, but at a slightly smaller scale for my clients that choose this option.
