    Ok, I got my fasteners last week at a local business. I installed them just as the directions say to and the deck looks great. I am having a problem getting the next board onto the clip. My clip is stanted downward at a slight angle making it hard to get the next board on. Has anyone else had this same problem?

    Wayne,

    This can sometimes be a problem if you are over torquing the screws. We typically recommend using a cordless screw gun with an adjustable clutch for installation as it is the easiest to use. It then vaires by brand and voltage, but your torque setting should probably be somewhere in the range of 3-8.

    I’m not sure that I’m asking this in the right spot, but didn’t see it addressed anywhere. Is my fastener supposed to rest on the joist? Mine doesn’t touch and I’m concerned that I have the wrong fastener or that I am installing it wrong.

    Buddy,

    Ipe Clip fasteners do not have to touch the joist when installing. The primary purpose for the leg is to space your deck boards, and that can be achieved whether the leg touches the joist or not.
